An Ideal Husband tickets are only available for a short time. Don't miss your last chance to see this classic as a part of Dominic Dromgoole's season of Oscar Wilde at the Vaudeville Theatre.
Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband, the cream of the crop when it comes to British comedies, follows the intrigue and scandal of public life straight into the drawing room. Sir Robert Chiltern’s seems confident of his smooth political ascension but when confronted with dubious past dealings everything is called into jeopardy.
Jonathan Church (Singing in the Rain, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui) directs real-life father and son duo Edward and Freddie Fox (of The Audience, The Day of the Jackal and The Judas Kiss, Cucumber & Banana respectively) who will star alongside Olivier nominated Frances Barber (Silk, Antony and Cleopatra), Nathaniel Parker (This House, Wolf Hall), Sally Bretton (Not Going Out, King Lear), and Susan Hampshire (Forsyte Saga, Monarch of the Glen).
Former artistic director of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre Dominic Dromgoole’s new theatre company, Classic Spring, is presenting a yearlong season of Oscar Wilde plays, centring on his Victorian plays. The season includes A Woman of No Importance, Lady Windermere’s Fan, De Profundis, The Selfish Giant, and The Importance of Being Earnest.

REVIEWS: AN IDEAL HUSBAND AT THE VAUDEVILLE
"***** This sumptuous production not only looks incredible – the costumes and scenery are simply stunning – but the brilliant cast turn this Oscar Wilde masterpiece into an acting masterclass. Samantha Bond is mischievous and sultry, Alexander Hanson brings great gravitas to the part of Lord Goring, Elliot Cowan's comic timing is razor-edged and Rachael Sterling brings both depth and subtlety to Lady Chiltern. A must-see!" - LondonTheatreDirect.com
