Alexzandra Sarmiento

Alexandra Sarmiento lives in Greater London, UK. Originally from New York, she is a professional Musical Theatre actor and dancer. Having worked both on screen and stage, Sarmiento has earned quite a few credits. She is currently appearing as a Swing and Dance Captain in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning musical Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London.

She is an adept Hip Hop, Freestyle, Ballet, Pas de Deux, and Jazz dancer. Her experience also involves her as an exceptional choreographer.

 

Training:

She went to acquire a Dance Major degree from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts (2007-11) and the State University of New York at Purchase College – Conservatory of Dance.

Connie Wong in Bob Avian’s A Chorus Line at the London Palladium (2013); Two Ladies/Frenchie in Rufus Norris’ Cabaret in the UK tour (2013); understudy Mabel/Lambchops in Gary Lloyd’s Fame in the UK tour (2014); understudy Carla, Swing and Associate Choreographer in Luke Sheppard’s In the Heights at the King’s Cross Theatre (2015); Daisy in Drew McOnie’s Jekyll and Hyde at The Old Vic (2016); Sally in Ola Ince’s Broad Shadow at The National Theatre (2016); Ensemble and Dance Captain in Drew McOnie’s Strictly Ballroom at the Princess of Wales Theatre and West Yorkshire Playhouse (2016); Swing and Dance Captain in Thomas Kail’s Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre (2017).

Film:

She is in the 2020 feature film by Jonathan Butterwell, Everyone’s Talking About Jamie (20th Century Fox).

TV:

Sarmiento has also worked as a dancer on television projects like Jerry Reeve’s The Voice Kids UK (ITV, 2018) and Ashley Wallen’s The Greatest Showman (The Brit Awards, 2019).
