Edwin Ray

Edwin Ray is a professional London-based actor who is currently appearing as an ensemble in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He is also a choreographer and writer, having recently workshopped his new work Prophecy! – A New Tudor Musical with support from New Adventures.

 

Training:

Edwin trained at the Laine Theatre Arts.

Theatre:

Ray has worked extensively in theatre, including projects like Fame at the Edinburgh Playhouse and Aldwych Theatre London; the UK tour of Crazy For You; Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake in Paris, UK tour and North American tour; the UK tour of Footloose and Chicago; RSC’s version of The Wizard of Oz at Southampton Mayflower Theatre; the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, West End; White Christmas at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth and Lowry Theatre, Manchester; Rock Around the Clock in Istanbul, Monte Carlo and UK tour; the Dutch tour of Irish Wings; Cinderella at Sadler’s Wells, London and the UK tour (2010/11); The Nutcracker at Sadler’s Wells, London and the 2011/12 UK tour; The Sound of Music in Bahrain; Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty at Sadler’s Wells, London and the UK tour; Anything Goes at the Kilworth House Theatre; Happy Days: The Musical in the UK tour; Cabaret at MAC, Belfast; Edward Scissorhands at Sadler’s Wells and the UK tour; Saul at the Glyndebourne Opera; Mary Poppins in the UK tour; Early Adventures in the UK and USA tour; Two Singular Sensations at the Brighton Fringe; Follies at the National Theatre; Christmas Spectacular in the UK Concert Hall Tour; Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella in the UK tour, Japan, China and USA.

On television, Ray worked in Stars In Their Eyes (Granada TV), Waking The Dead (BBC TV), and A Royal GALA (BBC TV).

Workshop:

Ray was also in the workshop for The Happy Prince at The Place, London.
