Gillian Ford

Gillian Ford is a Scottish actress based in London. She was a finalist in BBC Radio 2’s Voice of Musical Theatre Competition in 2005.

 

Training:

Gillian graduated with a Post Graduate Musical Theatre from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

Theatre:

She has extensive experience in the acting industry, having performed in numerous shows. Her roles include Princess Apricot in Paul Elliott’s Jack And The Beanstalk at The King’s Theatre (Edinburgh, 2003-04); Woman 1 in Matt Ryan’s Songs For A New World at Judy Dench Theatre, London; Sorel Bliss in Joe Harmston’s Hay Fever in the UK Tour (2007); the title role in Bev Berridge’s Cinderella at The Civic Theatre (Motherwell, 2007-08); cover Maria in Jeremy Sams/Frank Thompson’s The Sound Of Music at The Palladium (2008-09); Peggy Macroon in Ken Alexander’s Whisky Galore (2009), Jenny in Richard Baron’s The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie (2009) and Lady Sybil Tenterden in John Durnin’s What Every Woman Knows (2009) and Sarah Burnett in Richard Baron’s A Servant o’ Twa Masiters (2009) at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre; Sharon and Vocalist in Slice Of Saturday Night & Singers In Concert at Queen’s Elizabeth Theatre (2010-11); Vocalist in Ilya Averbukh’s Small Stories Of A Big City at the Ice Ice Symphony Sochi Park Ice Arena, Kensington Gardens (2012); Queen Lucretia in Gordon Barr’s Snow White at The Byre Theatre (2012); Mary Bailey in John Durnin’s It’s A Wonderful Life at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre (2013); Vocalist in Mattias Carlsson’s Pure Imagination (cruise ship, 2014-15); the title role in Morag Fullerton’s Cinderella at The King’s Theatre, Glasgow (2016-17)

She played the role of Bridesmaid in Miranda Bowen’s Honeymoon (short film, 2006), Mary in The Line Between Us (student film, 2016) and the voiceover for Terrence Carlisle’s Scotlands Clans for BBC Scotland (2009).
