Helen Woolf

Helen Woolf is a rising star who is making a name for herself in theatre. Originally from Cambridge, she was part of the UK premiere of Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere’s rock musical Bare: A Pop Opera, portraying the role of IVY at the Northbrook Theatre. She is probably best known for her performance as Johanna in a production of Sweeney Todd. Helen is also famous for playing the role of Rachel in Friends: The Opera. Helen was previously an ensemble member of *Wicked* in the West End

 

Training:

She received her training at the Southern Theatre Arts Centre (STAC), following her course in Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with a Triple Distinction in 2011.

Theatre:

Helen’s work on stage includes Rachel in Friends the Opera (Comedy Central), Beauty and the Beast (Engine House), Flat Stanley (Hull Truck Theatre), and understudy Glinda and Nessarose in the original Wicked UK & Ireland Tour and the Apollo Victoria. She went to India on the 2012 arena tour of West Side Story, where she was the lead vocalist. A year later, she starred in Hughes and Taylor-Rowan’s Kandy Kottage; she played Greta. Helen also featured as a soloist in Frances Ruffelle’s Paris Original at the St James Theatre.

Workshops:

She worked in Goodbye Barcelona at the Arcola Theatre as Rebecca.

Music:

Apart from singing in musical theatre, Helen is also a famous concert artist. She has performed at multiple venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Wiltons Music Hall, and the Actor’s Church in Covent Garden.

She is also in the recordings of composers like Karl Leicowitz, Frank Lazarus and Matheson Bayley. One of her top performances was in Freddie For A Day, the concert event at the Savoy Theatre. The event featured artists like Queen guitarist Brian May, Alfie Boe, Kerry Ellis and Top Jones.
