James Butcher
James Butcher, born on 16th August 1989 in Guildford, Surrey is a famous actor in the theatre industry. He is a Corps de Ballet of The Royal Ballet Company, London and well-known for his roles in An American in Paris, Monday Mourning and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Butcher is currently appearing in The Phantom of the Opera.
Training:
Butcher trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating in 2010. He also attended The Royal Ballet School as a ballet dancer.
Theatre:
Becoming part of the theatre scene not too long ago, he has worked in a few stage shows. His credits Billy’s older self/ensemble in Stephen Daldry’s Billy Elliot: The Musical at the Vitoria Palace (2005); an artist in The Royal Variety (2014) and a swing in Christopher Wheeldon’s An American in Paris (2017).
Film:
Among his film credits is his role of dancer/vocalist in Joseph & His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Really Useful Films); student in Harry Potter & the Philosopher’s Stone (Warner Bros) and ball guest in Cinderella (Kenneth Branagh).
TV:
He has done various other projects, like being a featured artist in BBC’s Holby City, a dancer in BBC Comic Relief, and soloist in ITV’s the Royal Variety Performance 2014.
