Rodney Earl Clarke
Born in Greenwich, London, Rodney Earl Clarke is a professional bass-baritone opera singer. He is immensely popular for his dynamic performance and was hailed as a “singer to be watched”. Rodney has extensive experience on stage, having performed in an array of TV, film, concert and operas among others. His contributions to the music industry didn’t go unrecognised, and he was made an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. His current project is Les Misérables, where he is playing the Bishop of Digne.
Training:
He trained in singing at the Royal Academy of Music and received the Richard Lewis/Jean Shanks Award 2001. Rodney was supported by the Sir Peter Moores Foundation.

He appeared as an army officer in The Magic Flute.
TV:
His television projects include opera pundit on BBC Proms, an opera singer in Hidden Talent, and Broadway Sounds Prom.

Rodney’s concert credits include the Chief of Police in Kismet; soloist in John Wilson Orchestra in Dublin/Kennedy Street UK tour, Rajah Bimmy/Workman 1 in On The Town (ENO), soloist in Church Parables/Mahogany Opera in the UK tour, Husky Miller in Carmen Jones, soloist in Simply Gershwin and soloist in Crazy For Gershwin. He was also in The Beast Of Broadway in its Arena tour, Czech Philharmonic with Louise Dearman.
Opera:
Being a versatile singer, he has been involved with various companies. His opera appearances include Big Daddy Brubeck in Sweet Charity (Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra), Pau Luto in Another America (Sadler’s Wells), Mel in The Knot Garden Music (Music Theatre, Wales), Asmodeus in Tobias And The Angel (Young Vic), Raschid in Tangier Tattoo (Glyndebourne on Tour), Anastase (Almeida/Aldeburgh Festival), Ferry Man in Curlew River And Don Giovanni (Birmingham Opera Company), Jake/Crown in Porgy And Bess (The Royal Danish Opera/Berlin Philharmonic) and Pasha Selim in The Abduction From Seralio (Opera Di Roma).
