Scott Davies

Scott Davies, the Scottish actor, is a popular name in British opera and musicals. Born in Glasgow, the London-based performer has been critically acclaimed and adored by the audience for his exceptional role in several theatres, both in the Broadway and the West End. Davies’ extraordinary career includes some of the highest-rated productions of British theatre. He has appeared as Phantom in the classic Phantom of the Opera in both the UK tour and West End productions for over 2000 times. Previously, he has also played the role of Raoul for the same production. He has also appeared in various TV shows and movies and performed as a singer in various events, including concerts and radio. Currently, he is known to work in The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with the SPO. 

 

Training:

Scott Davies was born and educated in Glasgow, Scotland. He received his professional training from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Theatre:

He played the title role in The Phantom of the Opera, The Father in Halisinia, Mr Snow in Carousel, Gus, Bustopher Jones and Growltiger in Cats, Chess (international tour, Oslo), Sandy in Brigadoon (Victoria Palace), and Kayama Yesaemon in Pacific Overtures.

Concerts and Opera:

Standby/ replacement as Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera (West End and UK Tour), Remondado in Carmen, Borsa in Rigoletto, Painter in Lulu, Don Riccardo and, on occasions, the title role of Ernani in Verdi’s Ernani (English National Opera).

TV and Other Credits:

His other credits include Taggart, Take the High Road, The Laurence Olivier Awards, Unreported Incident, Call Me Mister, Crimewatch UK, Open House, Echo Island, The Kenny Live Show and Dustin. Scott has also performed regularly with Radio 2’s Friday Night Is Music Night and worked as a singer in various leading English orchestras, including BBC Concert Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Swedish Chamber Orchestra etc.
