Birmingham Royal Ballet Mixed Programme tickets now on sale!
The Birmingham Royal Ballet returns to the Sadler’s Wells stage together with Ballet Black. The two companies will appear together in a stunning mixed bill. The programme for the evening will contain three pieces-- the National Dance Award-winning piece by Cathy Marston ‘The Suit’, Twyla Tharp’s tribute to Old Blue Eyes himself, ‘Nine Sinatra Songs’, and a new work from Jack Lister which has been commissioned as a part of Ballet Now.
Birmingham Royal Ballet Mixed Programme 2 nights only
The Birmingham Royal Ballet is recognised as one of the world’s best classical ballet companies and are known for their excellence and artistic innovation. They join together with Ballet Black a company who focuses on bringing ballet to more culturally diverse audiences by celebrating dancers of black and Asian decent.
Works by Clare Marston, Twyla Tharp and Jack Lister
Clare Marston is a choreographer, artistic director, Clore Cultural Leadership Fellow and board member of the Damzentrale Bern. Her work has been commissioned by The Royal Ballet, the Royal Opera House, Royal Opera, Northern Ballet as well as numerous international organisations.
Twyla Tharp founded her own dance company, Twyla Tharp Dance, in 1966. Since then she has toured the world and is known for pioneering and, some would say, perfecting crossover ballet. She has choreographed for Paris Opera Ballet, The Royal Ballet, New York City Ballet and many other prestigious organisations as well as many notable television and film projects.\
Jack Lister trained as a dancer at The Australian Ballet School. He went on to become a dancer for the Queensland Ballet. In 2015, he created his first ballet for the company and has quickly made a name for himself as an emerging choreographer.
Tickets for the Birmingham Royal Ballet Mixed Program are extremely limited. Book Birmingham Royal Ballet tickets for the 2 show run this Autumn at Sadler’s Wells now to avoid disappointment.

An absolute outstanding show!
Loved Frank Sinatra duets. Lovely music, bright costumes, beautiful dancing and lifts. I am not a fan of monochromatic costumes, low lighting as in first piece. Second piece: 'damaged love', was fantastic, with story, acting, innovative use of props, such as suit on a hanger and chairs.
We had a marvellous time at Sadlers Wells yesterday, and the Birmingham Royal ballet troupe were amazing. The variety of the different pieces was very great indeed and the quality of the dancers was outstanding. My friend especially loved the fact that it all ended on such a light hearted note with the ballroom dancing to Frank Sinatra. A lovely day out indeed.
Saw the modern programme on Saturday night at Sadlers Wells. Superb.
Each section was brilliant but the third part (In the Upper Room) was outstanding.
Wonderful afternoon. Lovely venue, helpful and welcoming staff and a great programme danced by a fantastic company.
