Gisèle Vienne Crowd Sadler's Wells tickets on sale now!
French mastermind Gisèle Vienne is set to bring her acclaimed 2017 piece, Crowd, to Sadler's Wells for the first time ever this autumn for a strictly limited engagement. Boasting a rich background in philosophy, music, and puppeteering that is often incorporated into her work, Gisèle Vienne has been known to investigate a serial killer's crimes through dance and juxtaposed athletes in the woods and phantoms on an ice skating rink.
Set to open for Dance Umbrella 2019, the artiste adeptly captures the ripples of liquid physicality of the night rave scene as she dispatches 15 mud-soaked dancers into the discotheque nightclub scene.
With a set of songs arranged by frequent collaborator and composer Peter Rehberg and dramatic composition by Dennis Cooper, Gisèle Vienne dives right into the communal euphoria of a determined party crowd in her first-ever Sadler's Wells performance. Don't miss it!

Awesome, shame about the person who kicked the back of my seat through the whole performance, not on you the production and the dancers were beyond impressive - as always at Sadlers wells / keep doing what you’re doing and god bless the young performers their energy and their ambition, love it.
I enjoyed the performance. The music line and story told by dancers were interesting. However, it was a bit monotonous with not a lot changing for the whole time of the performance. Unfortunately, the sound quality wasn’t great. The music quality would be much better with better sound eingeneering, especially that music was such a huge part of this performance. Dancers skills were 3.5/5. In general it’s 3/5 for me.
