About Mandy Patinkin

To some fans, he’s the Tony Award-winning revolutionary from Evita who grew into a bonafide Broadway star in Sunday in the Park with George. To others, he’s the Emmy Award-winning Best Actor, for his portrayal of Dr. Jeffrey Geiger in “Chicago Hope,” or the star of “Homeland" drama series. To some, he’s Madonna’s piano man in Dick Tracy or the scholar who made Streisand swoon in Yentl. And to others still, he will always be the man whose name is Inigo Montoya, the swashbuckling swordsman in The Princess Bride. But whichever role you know him for, Mandy Patinkin’s favourite is reaching out to live audiences with the power and the passion of popular song.

He belongs to the particular breed of singer who doesn’t merely dramatise songs but incorporates them into his very being.

Mandy Patinkin acted and sung his heart out for nearly 2 hours with some stories in between. He still has a fantastic voice and we had a wide range of songs including some Sondheim gems and a highlight was the soliloquy from Carousel. He finished up with a Yiddish version of Over the Rainbow. Superb!

Brilliant concert but too much bad language that was totally unnecessary.

Anwen Ashworth

We didn't enjoy the concert very much. The singer used way too much vibrato constantly in every song for our liking - so much that it was sometimes difficult to pick out the melody, even to songs that we knew.

David Johnson

Patinkin is a Broadway legend, probably the most talented and versatile male musical theatre performer of our generation, without question. We had seen him twice previously, following him over the years, and now he has reached that wistful, "looking back" time of his life, his performance very much mirrored where we are at with our lives, and we were very much in tune with all he had to say and perform. His performance was electric, as always, and whilst the voice and the manner have aged, of course, they have done so in the most magical and life-enhancing way. this man is extraordinary, if anyone gets the chance to catch this show they should grab it with both hands.

LORRAINE STREAMER

If you mean Mr Patinkin, there are few words grand enough to describe his concert. Let's try: sensational, emotional, funny, witty, very pleasing to the ears, superb, over too soon, mesmerising. He was absolutely wonderful. What a performer already.

Anna Maria Lockhart

What a wonderful performance - the theatre was filled with love and admiration for this most wonderful of men and performer. Together with his very talented pianist Mandy made the world stop and listen for a short time. Thank you

Mrs Carol Pratt

A 90-minute show turned into 120 and it was fabulous. The final song 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' sung in Yiddish brought a tear to many an eye. A wonderful experience. Thank you.

James Engle

Mandy is a consummate actor and it shows in his performance.
