Joe McElderry one night this autumn at The Other Palace

Returning to for the autumn season of Sunday Favourites after participating in the debut season, Joe McElderry has chosen to bring his UK tour, The Impossible Dream: Celebrating 10 Years of Music, to The Other Palace for their Sunday Favourites season. Joe McElderry has made a name for himself as a singer and songwriter who became known to the public through his performances on television singing competitions. He won the sixth series of ITV’s The X-Factor in 2009. Following his win, he would go on to release his first single ‘The Climb’, which would hit number one on the UK and Irish charts. In 2011, he also competed in and went on to win the second series of Popstar to Operastar. McElderry has also achieved great success as a recording artist. He has released five top 20 albums – three of which, Wide Awake, Classic, and Here's What I Believe, have reached top 10 in the UK. By 2014, Joe had sold over 2 million records worldwide.

Putting aside his success on television competitions, Joe McElderry has also had an impressive career on the stage. He played the lead role of Joseph in the UK touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a role which earned him much critical recognition. He starred as Tommy in The Who’s: Tommy and appeared in Thriller – Live! alongside American Grammy Award-winning recording artist Macy Gray.
