After Snow White, the contemporary choreographer Angelin Preljocaj continues in his exploration of fairy tales, this time with one of traditional Chinese origin. The story follows a traveller who finds himself enchanted with a woman portrayed in a painting on the wall of a temple in which he seeks shelter from the rain.

La Fresque, French for “The painting on the wall”, features costumes designed by the late Azzedine Alaia, with a haunting set by Constance Guisset (a regular collaborator with Preljocaj) and music from co-founder of the group Air, Nicolas Godin.
