Ever since its initial release in 1999, the beloved tale of The Gruffalo's encounter with a cunning little brown mouse has cemented Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler as the most successful author and illustrator duo in picture book publishing history!
The adventures of The Gruffalo began when Julia Donaldson stumbled upon a Chinese folktale tale featuring a clever girl who outwitted a hungry tiger by pretending to be the Queen of the Jungle. Intrigued by the story, Julia embarked on her own creative mission to create a character that could be adored by children worldwide.

My son (aged 3) loved every minute! :)
Great show!
Overall a disappointing experience. The actors were putting on silly voices, the songs that were created for the script to recreate the story weren’t relevant. And there was little engagement with the audience, which is aimed at children. Unfortunately I would not recommend this production
My 2 year old granddaughter’s first West End theatre experience. She thoroughly enjoyed it! She was able to follow the storyline, understand the characterisations and join in with songs. Well done everyone!

My 3 year old son thoroughly enjoyed watching and interacting during the performance. Well worth the money and would highly recommend.
Why sell seats where you can’t see the whole stage. Seems misleading even if you say views are restricted. Just don’t sell them espically if kids are sitting there. I’m sure you do testing to see what can be seen. But disappointed a good show had such restricted views of the show.

Great show. Took our 6 and 8 year old and they loved it. As did us parents!
Good production for children- our 4 year old really enjoyed it. 4 stars as I think a bit more interaction with the children would’ve been better.
Extra poor performance. The actor who was playing The Gruffalo was very bad: it was difficult to understand what he was saying. And the singing was very poor. Most of the songs were not for kids and jokes were very dumb. So I am totally disappointment with the quality, songs and professionalism of the performance.
