Tickets for Violet are now available for the London run. Do not miss the UK premiere of this moving production at the Charing Cross Theatre!

Violet was facially disfigured as a child and it has shaped her life, she remembers and sees the reactions of the people she meets from day to day. Determined to make a change, Violet decides to take her life savings and head from North Caroline halfway across the US to Oklahoma where she hopes to find a miraculous cure. The people she meets along the way are sure to mould her in ways she didn’t expect, but what will she find waiting for her at the end of her road?

Based on Doris Betts’ short story The Ugliest Pilgrim the musical Violet made its initial debut off-Broadway. Having won multiple awards for Best Musical after its Off-Broadway premiere, the Broadway revival of this touching musical was nominated for 4 Tony Awards. Now Violet makes its way to London’s Charing Cross Theatre for its UK premiere.

Violet has a book and lyrics by Brian Crawley and music by the incredibly talented Jeanine Tesori. Her score for the musical Fun Home, written along with Lisa Kron won a Tony Award for Best Orginal Score. Jeanine Tesori has also been nominated for Tony Awards for Caroline, Or Change, Shrek The Musical and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Violet tickets are available for a limited time only. Don’t miss your chance to see the UK premiere at London’s Charing Cross Theatre, book Violet tickets early to get the best seats at the best prices.

Christine

Impressive performances by all. Unique theatre setting. Music sound level was slightly too loud for comfort but perhaps this was where we were sitting. Row C

Great play and atmosphere... Downside :barstaff before the play were uninterested and appeared bored, bordering on rude which spoilt the evening somewhat.

I had not been to this theatre before and was intrigued by the layout, seats on both sides of a central stage / floor area with revolving stage. Well lit and minimal scenery. Musical was excellent with a talented cast. Fast paced and the 140minutes with no interval flow past. Would recommend it.

Michelle Anderson

Ok but won't be going again.

Liz White

This was a lively and entertaining play. I thought the cast were excellent, acting and singing. I would certainly recommend this production. I particularly liked the staging making us close to the "action".

Joy Barran

Amazing production at such a small venue. So impressed with the show I've been twice and wouldn't mind a third visit
