Operation Mincemeat London Tickets

The year is 1943, World War II rages across the world. The United Kingdom is about to take the upper hand with what will become one of the most ingeniously bizarre deception plans in wartime history. A stolen corpse and a fake name - Operation Mincemeat at the Fortune Theatre is a hilarious take on a twisted secret mission that changed the fate of the world forever.

The sharp-witted musical that tells the story of a real-life WWII operation has arrived in London’s West End. Having garnered a staggering 58 5-star reviews and unanimous critical acclaim, Operation Mincemeat in London is booking until 24 Feb 2024 at the Fortune Theatre. Operation Mincemeat tickets are coming soon with London Theatre Direct.

Straight From The History Books

This wartime musical first emerged at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and steadily built an acclaimed reputation for four years, before bringing its brilliant ensemble to the West End in 2023.

As historical accounts recall, a clever ruse was devised to deceive Hitler into relocating his troops away from Sicily, just prior to the planned European invasion. The secret service's plan involved planting counterfeit documents on a deceased body, dressed as a soldier and given a fake name, which was then set adrift on a Spanish shore. This adaptation of the real-life adventure is delightfully witty and relevant to our times, shining a light on the often excessive self-assuredness (and occasional ineptitude) of those in charge.

It’s Worth The Acclaim

  • Strangers on a Train meets Singing in the Rain in this Noel Coward meets Noel Howard spectacle.
  • Witness a fast-paced, belly-clutching and unbelievable tale of how the war was won, with one major question - how did a corpse in disguise fool Hitler and his intelligence? See for yourself with Operation Mincemeat tickets!
  • The operation itself inspired a film, Operation Mincemeat the film is a 2021 war drama film directed by John Madden. - It is based upon Ben Macintyre's book on the British Operation Mincemeat during the Second World War. The film stars Colin Firth, Kelly Macdonald,
  • Operation Mincemeat doesn't just focus on comedy; it also includes moments of pathos and heartfelt songs. There are also gag-packed songs that not only advance the plot but also provide memorable and entertaining moments.
