Bill Kenwright’s production of Scrooge the Musical returns to the London Palladium with Tommy Steele again taking the title role.
Star of Hollywood hits, The Happiest Millionaire, Finian’s Rainbow and the legendary Half a Sixpence, Tommy Steele returns as Ebenezer Scrooge in this heart warming musical extravaganza. Synonymous with the London Palladium for over four decades which has played host to some of his greatest triumphs including Hans Christian Anderson, The London Palladium Show, Dick Whittington and, of course, Singing in the Rain which ran for a record breaking 894 performances.
Scrooge the Musical tells Dickens’ story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge who - after a night facing the ghosts of his past, present and his frightening future - is transformed, his Christmas spirit restored. The score includes I Hate Christmas, It's Not My Fault, I'll Begin Again and Better Life.
This musical version of A Christmas Carol is by Leslie Bricusse, whose other major musicals include Stop the World - I Want to Get Off, Pickwick and Doctor Dolittle. Scrooge the Musical was originally a 1970 film starring Alec Guinness and Albert Finney.
