Free-spirited country girl Tess Durbeyfield knows nothing of the world outside her own village. Very enjoyable show. The acting, singing, movement, lighting and orchestra were all extremely good. One of the best shows I have seen in a long time (and I have seen many!!)
A strong adaptation of the Thomas Hardy classic with comedy moments lightening the dark tone of the subject matter. Lots of songs, possibly too many, with a choreographic a nod to Les Miserables towards the end. My daughter and I visit the theatre regularly; this is the first NYMT production we have seen. We’re looking forward to the next one.
An excellent production by very talented youngsters. A fresh, funny and original take on a very sad tale! Well done!
