How can love survive when time rips it apart? Adapted from Audrey Niffenegger's acclaimed and mind-bending novel of the same name and the New Line Cinema film, The Time Traveller's Wife: The Musical celebrates the intense complexity of love, its sweet yet temporary delights, and the time that we spend trying to save it - after all, time is precious, if only for a split second. About The Time Traveller’s Wife

Caught in a relationship that appears doomed by Henry’s extraordinary disorder, Henry and Clare are frantic in their search for a solution. Clare works as an expert sculptor, whilst Henry suffers from a rare disorder that causes him to spontaneously be ripped from the present and thrown into the past or future...and it can happen at any moment.

In no specific order, they meet, fall in love and even get married, but as time moves on in different directions, they are torn apart by the hands of the clock, whilst being bound together by their unconditional love. In this story, Henry is always trying to find his way back to the present, whilst Clare waits for his return. The road forward is uncertain, impossible even, but with strength on their side, can they retain their love?

Ama

Absolutely amazing. The production of this show was breathtaking.

Helen E

Fantastic show - brilliant effects, good script, amazing voices. Very expensive tickets so waited for an offer and then worth every penny!

Graham

Simply Brilliant. I had wondered how the book would translate to a musical on stage and it worked fantastically. 'Claire's' voice was especially magical. Her voice in the scene when Henry broke the news about his Vasectomy was outstanding - very well done throughout 'Claire'.

Dawn Boon

Absolutely fantastic, very talented cast & it kept us gripped all the way through. Be prepared for a couple of bangs that made us jump! Such a shame its run ends this week

Diane Kingsland

It was a good show with lovely special effects. Brilliant singing by all the cast very true to the original film.

Robin Carter

Great songs and chrography, it's the 2nd time I've seen it, 8 out of 10 for meeting 2nd half s better than the first some catchy songs

Maria Low

Fantastic! Be prepared to get emotional at the end! The set changes are particularly cool!

Des Oconnor

Mr & Mrs J Sheekey

A musical that I’m glad I’ve seen - some really clever bits, good singing and a tear in my eye at the end but overall not one that left me desperate to see it again.

Herr B.

It was wonderful! Great actors, great show, impressive special effects on the stage. And for not native English speakers like us it was easy to understand since the actors spoke and sang in a very clear English.

(Chestnuts roasting on an open) quickfire with Tim Mahendran

As it’s the festive season, (the big day is just six sleeps away!) we were tempted to send The Time Traveller’s Wife star, Tim Mahendran, ten lords a-leaping, however, ten Christmas questions were easier to send via email…

He may be playing Gomez in the weepy page to stage adaptation of The Time Traveller’s Wife, but his Christmas Day resembles another book to film to stage show, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Up to thirteen people are crammed onto his parents bed on Christmas morning to open their presents! (though, we’re reliably informed that the family do leave the bedroom to tuck into his Mums famous Beef Wellington, ‘we only get it once year, but every time it’s worth the wait!’)

Something he doesn’t have to wait 364 days a year for? Chocolate! Just like Charlie, The Time Traveller’s Wife cast are partial to a sweet treat, especially in the winter months. ‘There are lots of sweets and chocolate backstage, and when people walk on stage, there is a strong chance they are still eating chocolate’.

So, when you next watch the smash-hit show at the Apollo Theatre, try and guess which Quality Street the characters may, or may not, have in there pocket. Though we’re not quite sure where Henry (David Hunter) would hide his…
