Whisper House by Tony Award-winner Duncan Sheik brings his latest musical to The Other Palace.

Whisper House is a thrilling rock musical set at an eerie lighthouse on the remote East Coast of America at the height of the Second World War. Sent to live there after his father's plane goes down, Christopher joins an Aunt he has never met and a very mysterious Japanese housekeeper. Hearing strange sounds through the walls of the lighthouse, he must soon decide whether these ghostly whispers are threatening to become louder.

Featuring magical illusions, a tale of embracing the unknown and a spellbinding rock score, Whisper House is the recent musical from the multi-award winning Duncan Sheik. Best-known for creating legendary musicals Spring Awakening and American Psycho, Whisper House is guaranteed to be just as haunting…

With music and lyrics by Sheik, Whisper House features a book and lyrics by Obie award-winning Kyle Jarrow and was conceived by Keith Powell. Set to open for a strictly limited season beginning April 6th 2017, Whisper House is not a musical to miss.

Purchased by Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Other Palace aims to bring new and rarely-performed musicals to the forefront of the West End.

Unique & original! Reminiscent of Spring Awakening!!! Awesome cast... I saw a matinee but they performed their hearts out! Eerie! Haunting! Would recommend to those who like a little edge to their musicals!! Great set... lovely theatre!

Wonderful music, lovely voices and highly engaging story!

Really like the intimacy of the venue. Loved the music and staging. Just felt the story was a little weak. The house should be full. What can we do to get the word out? The area is buzzing with new restaurants. Victoria station so handy for Kent and Sussex. I plan to see everything on offer.

REVIEW: Whisper House

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most recent addition to his theatre portfolio, The Other Palace, has a noble quest. Put simply, it is a place to develop and nurture new musical theatre writing. Working off a similar model used on Broadway, Lloyd Webber hopes that his venue will be able to allow for more diversity on the musical theatre scene and also develop emerging talent. Bravo!

Whisper House is the latest production to be staged in the main house, the second since the theatre was rebranded (formerly the St James’s). The production comes with a sound pedigree. Duncan Sheik, the show's composer and co-lyricist also wrote the multi-award winning Spring Awakening – so we are in safe hands.
