Our Twitter followers try to sum up The Book Of Mormon!
Posted on 16 March 2013
The Book Of Mormon is soon to debut in the UK after taking America by storm. The musical, written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q co-creator Robert Lopez, was described by the New York Times as "the best musical of the century". Word of mouth has helped anticipation for the show to build momentum in the UK, but with a title that may misleadingly make some feel the show won't be as understood outside of the States, and near knuckle humour, the magic of the show can be hard to explain to those who haven't heard of it. We took to Twitter to get our followers to try and describe it.
The Book of Mormon tells the hilarious the story of two young Mormon missionaries who are bringing the news of the Latter Day saints to local villagers in a small town in Uganda. It won nine Tony Awards in 2011 and Vogue magazine dubbed it "the funniest musical of all time". It starts its previews next Wednesday, 20th March at the Prince Of Wales Theatre. Here are some of our Twitter followers thoughts on the show:
