The All About Eve cast will feature Stanley Townsend in the role of theatre critic Addison DeWitt. The Irish actor is perhaps best known for his role of Sims in The Nether (2014) at the Royal Court Theatre, his award-winning role in Shining City, and Guys and Dolls at the National Theatre.
The cast also stars Charles Hagerty as Waiter, Grace Stone as Ensemble, Ian Drysdale as Max Fabian, Philip Voyzey as the Pianist, and Tsion Habte as Phoebe. They join the previously announced Gillian Anderson as Margo Channing, Lily James as Eve Harrington, Monica Dolan as Karen Richards, Rhashan Stone as Lloyd Richards, Sheila Reid as Birdie and Julian Ovenden.
All About Eve is scored by Grammy Award-nominated recording artist PJ Harvey and it is adapted from the 1950 film of the same name, which was written and directed by Joseph L Mankiewicz and starred Bette Davis as Margo Channing and Anne Baxter as Eve Harington. The smash-hit film about the dark side of showbiz ended up winning six Academy Awards out of its 14 nominations, including Best Picture.
The All About Eve play features sound by Tom Gibbons, set and lighting by Jan Versweyveld, and costume from An D’Huys. It opens on 2 February 2019 at the Noel Coward Theatre where it is booking until 11 May 2019.
