Blake Harrison of The Inbetweeners joins the London cast of Waitress The Musical
Following a new lead cast announcement for Waitress made last week, it has been confirmed today that Blake Harrison will be taking over the role of Ogie from 30 Rock actor Jack McBrayer, who finishes his West End debut performance on Saturday, 15 June 2019. Harrison begins his run as Ogie in Waitress on Monday, 17 June 2019.
In addition to his role on the BAFTA Award-winning E4 comedy series, The Inbetweeners, and its subsequent film spin-offs, The Inbetweeners Movie and The Inbetweeners 2, Blake Harrison has also notably appeared in the critically lauded BBC drama, A Very English Scandal, opposite Hugh Grant, Alex Jennings, and Ben Whishaw. Other screen credits of Harrison's include The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Prime Suspect 1973, feature-length film Dad’s Army, and E4 series’ Tripped. Upcoming credits on screen include the new BBC WWII drama World On Fire premiering this September and the crime-comedy film Madness In The Method.
Harrison's stage credits include the role of Michael in The End Of The Pier at London's Park Theatre and STEP 9 (Of 12) at the West End's Trafalgar Studios.
The new lead cast in Waitress also stars Ashley Roberts as Dawn, David Hunter as Dr. Pomatter, Lucie Jones as Jenna, Marisha Wallace as Becky, Peter Hannah as Earl, and Shaun Prendergast as Old Joe.
Completing the West End cast of Waitress as part of the company will be Ashley Roberts, Charlotte Riby, Chris McGuigan, David Hunter, Kelly Agbowu, Leanne Pinder, Lucie Jones, Marisha Wallace, Mark Willshire, Michael Hamway, Nathaniel Morrison, Nicole Raquel Dennis, Olivia Moore, Peter Hannah, Piers Bate, Sarah O’Connor, Shaun Prendergast, and Stephen Leask.
Laura Baldwin will be returning to the role of Dawn at the end of summer.

The West End production of the hit Broadway musical Waitress received its UK premiere at London's Adelphi Theatre on 7 March 2019 and the four-time Tony Award-nominated musical has reached many milestones since its original Broadway run. Waitress The Musical was realised by a record-breaking, all-female creative team that includes 7-time Grammy® nominee Sara Bareilles (Brave, Love Song), who wrote the original score for the show; renowned screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam), who wrote the book for Waitress; the Tony Award®-winning Diane Paulus (Finding Neverland, Pippin), who directed the production; and Lorin Latarro, who provided the choreography.
Waitress is now touring across the United States and will receive its Australian premiere at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in 2020.
