THE LADY KILLERS AT THE GIELGUD THEATRE REVIEWS

The Ladykillers is a classic Ealing comedy from 1955 adapted by Graham Linehan of Father Ted and IT Crowd fame for a stage production now showing in the West End at The Gielgud Theatre.  Comedians Rob Brydon and Peter Serafinowicz were in the audience for the show's opening night at the Gielgud Theatre.

The production stars Marcia Warren, Peter Capaldi, James Fleet, Clive Rowe, Stephen Wight.  The production and cast have all received fantastic reviews after it's first night opening.

"Mrs Wilberforce is played to perfection by Marcia Warren.  "There is no mistaking the genuine appeal of this thoroughly jolly and classically produced show." **** Daily Mail

"...the show works and, at its considerable best, works triumphantly." "...you would need to be feeling very glum indeed to emerge from this production without a broad grin on your face." **** Daily Telegraph

"Mixing elements of farce, thriller, ghostly chiller and morality tale, Linehan's layered play seems to speak of a darkness at the very heart of British society, yet it brims with slapstick." ****  Evening Standard

"...the play garners so many laughs and is so vibrantly acted."  "...an exuberantly inventive evening, one existing in its own right at a tangent to the original, and proving that an ingenious William Rose idea, even when put to a farcical purpose, can still smell as sweet. **** The Guardian
