The Prince of Egypt’s initial West End casting

Finally, we know who will be taking on the starring roles; Luke Brady and Liam Tamne are going to the lead the cast in the roles of Moses and Ramses respectively! They will be joined by Christine Allado in the role of Tzipporah and Alexia Khadime in the role of Miriam. Further casting is yet to be announced for this West End premiere but for now, we’re very excited to know who will be leading the cast in this prodigious production. Luke Brady, who will lead as Moses, is most popularly known for his role as Anthony Hope in the acclaimed production by Jonathan Kent in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd (West End’s Adelphi Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre). Brady trained at RADA and has various theatre credits including The Merchant of Venice, The Taming of the Shrew and Twelfth Night (Shakespeare’s Globe and Tour), and St George and the Dragon (National Theatre).

Liam Tamne, who will play Ramses, recently starred in The Light in the Piazza (Southbank Centre) as Giuseppe Naccarelli. His previous credits include: Working (Southwark Playhouse), Spamilton (Menier Chocolate Factory), The Rocky Horror Show (UK Tour), as well as The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre), Les Miserables (Sondheim Theatre/formerly known as the Queens Theatre), and Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre). He is also recognised for appearing on The Voice (BBC) Series 2 and Eurovision: You Decide.

Christine Allado, who will play Tzipporah, starred in the original London cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton in the dual role of Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds. Her further theatre credits include: In The Heights (Kings Cross Theatre), Here Lies Love (National Theatre), and Sweet Charity (Manchester Royal Exchange). Outside of her work in theatre, Christine has toured internationally as a guest singer for Andrea Bocelli.

Alexia Khadime, who will play Miriam, has starred in leading roles throughout the West End. Alexia has performed as Elphaba in Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre), as Nala in The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre), as Eponine in Les Miserables (Sondheim Theatre/Queens Theatre) and as Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon (Prince of Wales Theatre).

What is The Prince of Egypt about?

The all-new stage musical The Prince of Egypt comes with music and lyrics from Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and a book from Philip LaZebnik (Mulan, Pocahontas). There are 10 new songs from Schwartz as well as 5 of his original songs from the DreamWorks Animation film on which the musical is based. This widely acclaimed story takes us back to Ancient Egypt where we follow the journey of two young men, who were raised as brothers at the top of the pecking order, but a secret from the past arises, dividing them. One is to be Pharaoh, and the other seeks out his true people and rises up to lead them to freedom. They both face a destiny that will see a change in history forever!
