Legendary band Queen, fronted by the dynamic Freddie Mercury before his death in 1991, have been making music together since the 70’s and have now joined forces with writer Ben Elton to bring their unique sound to theatreland for a smash hit musical set in the future.
At the Duchess Theatre is the play Ecstasy written by Mike Leigh. It is the first time he has revisited a play that was first performed in 1977. The play was so successful at the small Hampstead Theatre that it transferred to the West End allowing for a larger audience to see the play. Every performance has a hundred tickets on sale at the price of the seats from the Hampstead theatre to give those who tried to see the play there a chance to go at the same price.
Already selling well is the new play of old favourite Pygmalion coming to the Garrick Theatre.
