Tom copes by smoking and spending long hours at the movies, while Laura retreats into her collection of glass animals and her records. One day, Tom brings home a potential suitor for Laura, and Amanda sees this as an opportunity to change their fortunes forever.

Maria Oberstadt

wonderful play - great actors

Nyree Hughes

I particularly enjoyed the portrayal of the daughter, Laura.

Richard Wallace

I have seen numerous productions of this show and this is the best.

Linda Payne

Enjoyed the production very much - Tennessee Williams was such a great playwright and this was the first time I had seen The Glass Menagerie. Excellent seats in Row C of the stalls made us feel really involved.

II thought the production, sets and clothes were good and very evocative of the times. However, I couldn't hear a word that the actress who plays Laura said. This is crucial as the play depends on the dialogue. Not much else happens, i was in the Upper Circle and am a a bit okder now and thought maybe it was my hearing. My friend had the same trouble. We spkke to two young drama students afterwards and they had the same problem. I think you ought to try to rectify this. We thought the the acgress moved well and portrayed her character well but kept wishing she would speak up.Difficult as her character was shy and nervous but one should be able tomhear what she was saying.

Richard Franklin

Cherry Jones too much overacting "Look at me, I'm a great actress". First act too much shouting, hysterical. You can show all the anger and frustrations of the character in a much lower key with the motto less is more. Compensated for is Act 2 with the very moving scene between Laura and the gentleman but then the spell is broken by the final screaming. A great play but misinterpreted.

Brian

A disappointing performance with rather poor acting all round. The second half was better

Ruth Jackson

Well staged. Brother character was good. Mother character was stiff, said every line the same, and terrible with the others. We left atinterval, and we love this play.

PAUL WESTCOTT

It was an extremely well-acted performance of a brilliant play

Thierry Margris

Excellent and good adaptation

Chris Atkin

Difficult to hear from the rear of the stalls (row N) so disappointed and some of the was dialogue was lost. Otherwise production was excellent.
