Matthew Lopez’s stunning two-part play Tickets for The Inheritance are now available to London’s Noel Coward Theatre.

Following a sell-out run at the Young Vic that had theatre critics glowing with praise and people clambering for tickets, The Inheritance is making its way to the Noel Coward Theatre. Matthew Lopez’s incredible masterpiece was inspired by E.M. Forster’s Howard’s End and is directed by two-time Olivier and two-time Tony award-winning director Stephen Daldry.

Taking place in New York City a generation after the AIDS epidemic The Inheritance tells the story of what it is like to be a young gay man in this day and age by following a group of young gay men who are determined to succeed. What do we owe those who came before us and those who will come after us?

Featuring the Tony, Olivier, Oscar, and Emmy winning actress Vanessa Redgrave, on stage in the West End for the first time in 7 years, The Inheritance stars Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey alongside Hugo Bolton, Robert Boulter, Andrew Burnap, Hubert Burton, Paul Hilton, Samuel H. Levine, Syrus Lowe, Michael Marcus, Kyle Soller and Michael Walters.

This touching, engaging and hilarious show is presented in two parts and is intended to be viewed sequentially. Don’t forget to book your tickets to The Inheritance: Part 1 here

Wow . . . a must see conclusion to a very touching story of the challenges faced by gay men. It stirs all kinds of emotions.

This was the BEST THEATER experience of a lifetime. The pure talent was mesmerizing and so well written. The truth it spoke was life changing. I have never been so emotionally struck before. Thank you, thank you, thank you. BRAVO

Cecile Narbeth

Though at times engaging and very moving as in Part One, I felt Part Two was needlessly too long.

Evelyne BOUVIALA

Enlightening ! What a brain blowing experience

Ishita Ranjan

The play, both part 1 & 2 us absolutely brilliant. Amazing cast, so well written & a story that leaves you truly breathless and moved. My only (small) gripe is that our seats were in the balcony for part 2 (but grade circle for part 1) and the view was very obstructed despite having paid full prices for the seats. 10/10 reccommend but don't go to balcony seats!

Sophie Saunderson

I was pleased to have seen both Parts on the same day. Time flew and I enjoyed every moment.

Ken Newlan

intense and clever mostly, occasionally descending into smart-alec back chat posing as repartee. Too long and pretentiously grabbing mythic/ sentimental/ reflexive/ postmodern narratively contradictory form. Some good ideas. Romanticized homosexual lifestyle.

Dr M K Rebek

Intense, superb acting, a tribute to gay life after AIDS crisis

Lionel

Cliched and boring. Insufferably uncomfortable seats.

Matt Harris

Absolutely outstanding. I honestly think this is the best theatre production I have seen in my life. I laughed, cried and grew.

A play that succeeds in holding an audience for three and a half hours, in rapt attention, is a rarity. There was not a false note from the ensemble cast and though the play is has AIDS at its centre, thematically, it is about so much more: love, friendship, betrayal, despair, homelessness, forgiveness and of course inheritance.

Ian Rycott

Great cast, wonderful dialogue, but not as powerful as part 1. Part 1 works as a standalone production, while I thought the second part recapitulated much of the first, however it had to be seen.
