Home, I’m Darling tickets now on sale!

Don't miss your chance to snag Home, I'm Darling tickets at the West End's Duke of York's Theatre following sold-out runs at Theatr Clwyd and the National Theatre and ahead of its planned tour to the Theatre Royal Bath and the Lowry in Salford.

What is Home, I'm Darling about?

Laura Wade’s (Posh) sharp new play transfers to London’s West End following a sell-out run at the National Theatre. This cutting new comedy shines a light on one woman’s desire to be a cookie cutter housewife.

Everything looks picture perfect- the dress, the apron, the appliances, the decor, the wife, the husband. But how far do appearances go? While a bit of fantasy helps keep a marriage alive it can only go so far once things start to get real. It turns out being a domestic goddess isn’t necessarily as easy as Judy thought it would be. This is a play about sex, dessert and fantasy.

Who is in Home, I'm Darling?

Home, I'm Darling sees Katherine Parkinson reprise her leading role as the perfect 50s housewife, Judy. Parkinson is a veteran of the stage appearing in the West End in shows such as The Seagull, Cigarettes and Chocolate, and  Dead Funny. She is a witty comedian perhaps best known for her television roles. Her role as Jen Barber in IT Crowd won her British Comedy and BAFTA awards. The actress has also had starring roles in Humans and The Kennedys. Richard Harington played the role of Judy's husband, Johnny during previous runs, however, at this time it is unclear whether he will return for the future productions.

Who wrote Home, I'm Darling?

Laura Wade is an award-winning playwright whose work at the Soho Theatre (Colder than Here) and the Royal Court Theatre (Breathing Corpses) earned her an Olivier Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre. Her cutting new comedy comes to the London stage for a strictly limited 11-week run from 26 January to 13 April. Do not miss your chance to see comedy genius Katherine Parkinson in her critically acclaimed role as Judy.

Was disappointed with the play and the performance - the actors didn’t look excited to be on stage and were quite listless.

Marta C Bleier

Theatre seats highly uncomfortable; view was restricted though seat tickets sold as unrestricted. Charged £7.00 for each ticket purchased - thankfully only two - for paying by credit card. Not impressed.

Julia Stacey

The play was brilliant. The seating at the back of the stalls not so good. The overhang of the balcony meant a restricted view of the set despite the assurances of the staff to the contrary. I expect to be told about this before I book my tickets and the ticket price adjusted accordingly!

Krystyna Piotrowska

An interesting storyline, great cast and thoroughly enjoyed the play.

Ms F Brookeman

Online plan should have shown low ceiling royal circle

Monica Drew

A fantastic production - a wonderful play, brilliantly acted by a superb cast. And a great set design too. Perfect!

Mrs Andrew

Excellent funny play, really makes us look at modern life from a different perspective

Niki Holland

In the main, we enjoyed it. Could have been more tightly scripted and directed. Some actors were better than others.

Lovely little show... Theatre is restrictedbin it's views. There was an issue with a gentleman in a wheelchair but the manager was very good and spent a lot of time with the him. Very professional.

JuliaHoney

Great play. For £66 tickets we would like to have seen the upstairs of the stage.

Sylvia

Enjoyable show

catherine

Restricted view which spoilt the experience. Everyone in our seating area was moaning! A lot of money spent on seats!

London Theatre Review: Home, I'm Darling at the Duke of York's Theatre

"Hi Honey, I'm Home!"

In Laura Wade's Home I'm Darling, the sun is shining, rockabilly music is playing, and the household is a hive of activity – preparations for the day ahead are very much in swing. As Johnny descends the stairs, his breakfast is on the kitchen table, his wife Judy (Katherine Parkinson) is there ready to welcome him with a cheery smile and a good morning kiss. The picture of 1950s suburbia couldn’t be stronger as he collects his lunch and briefcase and leaves for his day at work.
