War Horse play tickets!

Giddy-up! War Horse has returned to the London stage at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre!

Perhaps you thought you’d never live to see the day, but the day certainly has come for War Horse to dash right back onto the London theatre stage! Having first run at the National Theatre back in 2007 before transferring to the New London Theatre for a 7-year run, War Horse is locked, cocked and ready to rock!

Directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, this multi-award-winning play based on the bestselling novel by Michael Morpurgo is set to return to London this autumn at an all-new venue near Wembley Stadium! The very limited run at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, which was set up by the same team who brought you the King's Cross Theatre, marks just one leg of the new UK and international War Horse tour.

What makes War Horse so fantastic?

War Horse is such a spectacular play that even the Royal Family endorses it. Famous for its jaw-dropping puppetry from South Africa’s Handspring Puppet CompanyWar Horse never ceases to amaze after all these years. In fact, the show's puppetry is so mesmerising that even the Queen of England couldn't help but fall in love with Joey the horse, a puppet that has performed for HRH on a number of occasions. How can you resist a play that boasts the 'Royal Seal of Approval'?

Aside from its astonishing special effects and life-sized equestrian puppetry, War Horse is also filled with emotionally provocative music and songs that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!

The critically acclaimed National Theatre production, which has won both Olivier Awards and Tony Awards on Broadway, played in London's West End for a total of 8 years. It eventually became an international phenomenon when it was staged in 11 countries across the globe and has now been seen by a whopping 7 million people. The numbers don't lie!

What is the War Horse play about?

At the dawn of the First World War, Albert's beloved horse Joey is sold to the cavalry and whisked off to France. Albert soon gets caught in the middle of bloody battles and devastating crossfire and he can't seem to forget his four-legged companion. While not yet old enough to enlist into the armed forces, Albert is led by destiny on an unforgettable quest to find and bring back Joey.

War Horse is a touching and highly imaginative drama that will take you on an unforgettable journey through World War I. Featuring a gripping story of a boy who loves his pet horse and a fabulous cast of actors who work to bring the life-sized puppets to life, War Horse is absolutely unmissable!

Book your tickets to War Horse at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre now to make sure you gallop to secure your place at the show! War Horse tickets are expected to get swept away fast, so be sure to book your seats early!

MRS WISEMAN

Fantastic performance. So important to make sure that we never forget the horrors of war and how it affects people in many different ways. The War Horse production brings this to our attention spectacularly. Sorry we saw it on its last day. Is it coming back to London? I would love to see it again.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC

Angela, Bolton

Love the show. The way they get the horses to appear so realistic was amazing. Wasn't so struck on the venue though to be honest, however this by no means detracted from our enjoyment of the show.

Mr Brian Hanby

Amazing !!

Chris Clemson

A very enjoyable and emotional performance. A cast of very talented people:-)

Amanda Gasson

Fabulous show, the horses were incredible.

Mr. Geoffrey Kerry

A really fantastic, dramatic performance. We had seen War Horse at The National many years ago. I could remember some of the details but much has perhaps bee updated. The guys animating the horses (and not forgetting the geese and birds) are really outstanding. Quite amazing visualising techniques making everything so realistic. Definitely worth recommending.

Jane

Absolutely brilliant show, loved the mechanical animals, very well done. Magical

Susanne Jones

I absolutely love this show. It’s my second time of seeing this and I felt it had been updated with sound effects. I can’t remember there being a tank but oh so good. The puppeteer’s are amazing. So clever. The way they make these puppets move I actually begin to believe the horses are real. My husband and myself took our 14 year old granddaughter with us and she also enjoyed it. A wonderful evening. Thank you. Sue Jones

Vikki Reid

Absolutely amazing, you are totally drawn into the play. I never expected to get emotionally attached to a puppet, but that is exactly what happened. After a while you don’t even notice the puppeteers. A beautifully skilled cast and a beautiful performance.

London Theatre Review: War Horse at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre

I remember when War Horse first came to the stage twelve years ago. Eleven year old me read about it in ‘Pony’ Magazine and immediately wanted to go. Well, yesterday I finally got there. Brought back for a limited run at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, War Horse makes great use of the huge space. It is one of the most unique pieces of theatre I have ever seen. The horses are huge puppets manned by three people each and the effect is amazingly believable.

Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle: Where Should I Sit At The Theatre?

People often ask me where they should sit in a theatre. But the answer is governed by so many things, from budget, viewing angles, mobility, the theatre itself and of course personal preference, that there's no clear cut answer.

Does it matter where you sit in a theatre?

Where you sit in a theatre will likely affect your experience, but this depends on your preferences, budget and the structure of the theatre.

In general, the Stalls allow for a more intimate and personal feel due to their close proximity to the stage. Whereas the Circle offers a broader perspective as you are slightly more elevated, allowing you to appreciate the full stage.
