Kiss of the Spider Woman tickets are now booking for this stunning adaptation.

Argentinian author Manuel Puig’s novel Kiss of the Spider Woman comes to the Menier Chocolate Factory in this stunning new adaptation by Jose Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries) and Allan Baker.

Two very different men strike up an unlikely friendship when they find themselves imprisoned together, one for being a revolutionary, the other for being a homosexual. In their Latin America prison cell the men begin to learn about each other as they weave the tale of the seductive Spider Woman.

Following his acclaimed run as Artistic Director of National Theatre of Scotland, Laurie Sansom directs this show which stars Samuel Barnett (The History Boys, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency) as Molina and Declan Bennett (Once, Jesus Christ Superstar) as Valentin.

Features

This is no Black Widow!

Currently playing at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Manuel Puig’s novel Kiss of the Spider Woman has been adapted for the stage, with a running time of 1 hour 40 minutes, cramming in every conceivable emotion. It tells the tale of two men who are cellmates in prison. One sentenced for gross misconduct, the other for his political stances. We watch as they learn to adapt to the cards that life has dealt them, along with trying to learn to live again.
