Not sure about the choice of actors and need of rain - it seems that all west end productions utilise the rain machine without justification. Clear on the symbolism of rain - sorrow etc . But not sure in this case it was needed.
A brilliant production - superb acting and loved this theatre
Amazing performance, Sophie Okonedo and the whole cast were outstanding. Such an intense and perfect performance, what a treat. Theatre set in Soho Place is really cosy , allowing to view performance up close which was an added bonus. Staff of Soho place were outstanding, courteous and welcoming, would love to visit again for other performances.
Superb acting. Very interesting directional features - e.g. actors in audience; the way the male actor changed from one character to another; real rain. Love the theatre. Love theatre in the round. The theatre staff should also be praised for how they handled a medical emergency in the audience, having to pause the performance for 15 20 minutes.
The play was excellent but there are 2 things to complain about the theatre. There was a small gap between the front board and was large enough for the programme to fall through. This was a design fault and we had to complain and wait until the end to get another programme! I was rather concerned about the time it took us to get out of the theatre - what if there had been a fire. There only seemed to have be one main exit. Unfortunately there was a medical incident and the play had to be halted but I was very impressed with the way the staff handled everything and the cast managed to continue. Well done!
Most amazing show I’ve seen and I’ve seen a lot. The acting was superb. Just loved it. Even when the cast had to stop as a member of the audience was taken ill they were so professional when they came back on. The emotion was unreal in a word awesome
Sophie Okonedo is extraordinary and the production really powerful. Love the theatre too, except the exit process, which for a new build theatre is dreadful. Heaven help them if there is an emergency.
Stunning. Mesmerising.
Fantastic performance from all involved. Great use of stage & design
Wow! Amazing acting!!!
Wonderful experience! We enjoyed our time and hope to come back again soon.
The actors were incredible in what must be a very gruelling play. Great use was made of the space. The theatre itself is comfortable and roomy but it was hard to exit, very congested and one stairway was blocked off?
