Death of a Salesman Tickets

Best play I have ever seen. Cast and production superb. Only negative comment I have is the theatre allowed customers in 30 minutes after curtain raised; disruptive and disrespectful behaviour and in my opinion they should have been made to wait until the interval.

It is difficult to be overly generous to a production when you can only see half the show as it is hidden by safety rails and at a level where some scenes are performed so front stage that it cannot be seen from upper tiers. Certainly it is daylight robbery to sell a full price aisle seat ( where the rails obscure) in the Piccadilly without suggesting it has restricted vision. That said there were many good aspects to the production not least an outstanding performance by Sharon D Clarke as Linda. Wendell Pierce gave a solid performance as Willy, capturing his confusion though not really capturing that underlying fragility so central to Willy’s tragedy. Biff was largely unintelligible in the second half (a change of cast from the original production). The design became a little bitty in the Piccadilly and lacked that sense of claustrophobia that at times adds to Willy’s sense of being hemmed in. Nevertheless much to commend it, though I wonder how much had been lost since the young Vic performances.

Excellent acting, very engrossing

Beautifully produced and excellent acting. However, the show is spoiled by the mad rush during intervals and the inadequacy of the bar where one has to queue for ages just to get a coke. Perhaps a drinks waiter should walk around the stalls just like the ice cream servers
