The Painkiller Tickets

Quite a good show. Seats were a bit pricey bearing in mind they were restricted view.

It was ok! too much unnecessary shouting! Not worth the £130 I paid for 2 tickets I am afraid.

I thought this play was amazing, Adult slapstick and humour delivered with perfect timing. I couldn't believe Mr Branagh could or is so flexible. Rob Brydon was great. The bell boy was great playing. I have raved about since I left the theatre

Having missed the other plays in this Kenneth Brannagh series, we were keen not to miss this one. The show is great - a return to farce, for which the timing is crucial. Only complaint - London Theatre prices seem to have taken a hike. £50+ used to buy great tickets, now its £100+. It means we will not be visiting London Theatres as often as we used to.

Hilariously funny farce with excellent acting from Kenneth Branagh and Rob Brydon - thoroughly enjoyable evening!

This was an excellent show in every way. The acting, script, set and direction were all amazing. It was so funny that I was crying with laughter! Kenneth Branagh was outstanding but all of the cast were excellent as were their comic timing, energy and sparkle. The plot was mad and the script was hilarious. I highly recommend this play to anyone who would like to enjoy the best of British West End theatre.

My partner and I attended last nights performance of The Painkiller at the Garrick Theatre. We had seats c1 and c2 in the grand circle. I appreciate these are very much the cheap seats and they advertised as 'restricted view' . However they are NO VIEW rather than restricted. The play started at 7.30 and by 8.10 I hadn't even seen Rob Brydon!!! One of my main passions in life is live theatre but having 2 young boys and working for ourselves funds (not to mention time!)for this are very limited so we always opt for the more affordable seats. I have been so looking forward to seeing this play-I booked the tickets last year as I was so keen to see it and I have never been to the Garrick before. I couldn't of been more disappointed - the play seemed fantastic and the audience appeared throughly entertained but unfortunately we felt so disheartened that we left at 8.10. I really hated to leave but I was simply staring at the empty half of the stage -I may as well have been listening to a version of the painkiller adapted for the radio-so it seemed pointless. The play may well be more on the other side after that point so we may have seen the actors later in the performance but I felt we had already missed too much at that point. As I mentioned we frequently buy restricted view tickets but this has always meant in past that you miss a few glimpses of things at the side of the stage or perhaps if some dance sections are on raised areas you can only see their feet (rather than their whole bodies) for the duration of one routine or perhaps you have to ignore a safety screen that is in your line of sight but never NEVER has 'restricted view' meant that you simply can't see the whole play.Cheap seats or not I can't help but feel that £35 is an unacceptable amount to charge when you literally can't see the actors - I really don't think seats c1 and c2 in the grand circle should be available to purchase for a production that is being done in this format(I.e split stage left and right). We live in Southampton so not only did we have to buy the tickets we also had to purchase train tickets so it cost us £65 for 40 mins of NOT watching a play. I am sure you are well within your rights legally to sell the seats because of the restricted view disclaimer so I am not even bothering to ask for a refund but I would really appreciate some feed back from my comments. I would also urge you in the strongest possible terms to rethink selling those seats for this particular play. If the play took place across the whole stage then it would be more acceptable (and , again I do realise how inexpensive these tickets were compared to the premium seating ) but for this play these seats are not acceptable even as restricted view.

We thoroughly enjoyed The Painkiller. Lots of laughs and, in typical farce style, men running about in their pants. Great for a light hearted night out.

Hilarious, great acting and a thoroughly great night out at the theatre!

The energy was good but there was far too simplistic and too much slapstick humour and not enough depth for me.
